Shelley King is a passionate, multidisciplinary artist living in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada; originally called Nogojiwanong by the Anishinaabe, meaning "place at the end of the rapids”. She gets her creative inspiration from the many beautiful natural settings she calls home.

Shelley’s motivation is to inspire others to explore, experiment and create in ways that feed their souls and enhance their quality of life. Her favourite art forms are puppetry, collage, storytelling, book arts, textile arts and expressive arts. In the past 4 decades, she has performed for and taught thousands of people of all ages and abilities.

Brand new this year, Shelley has created “The Marvelous Makers Studio”, an after school program for creative kids in Peterborough.  Sessions will be 4 to 6 weeks in length, offering young artists opportunity to explore several art forms that build on each other, develop skills,  grow confidence and encourage joyful connection.

Shelley’s other passions include spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren & dog; walking & exploring in nature, creating collage masterpieces (both large & small), knitting, reading and attending live music & theatre productions. She is a lifelong learner and has a hard time saying “no” to a good book, course or workshop.
